A Little Sad

I made a video last year for Gabriella. It was a sweet video that took a lot of time. I added pictures from early in my pregnancy to her delivery. It shows a lot of pictures from when I was sick and some sonogram pics. It really means a lot to me and I put the song Baby Mine by Allison Kraus as the backup track. I love watching the video as it always brings tears to my eyes. The video is simply titled, My Little Miracle Baby, Gabriella. Well I got a message from YouTube tonight saying the owner claimed copyright against me or something and so they REMOVED my video. :( Now I would understand if I were trying to make money off of it or something why I shouldn't do it...but this is just a personal homemade video to honor my little one. The song is something I always sang to my girls. I love that tune. I love it as sung by Bette Midler and from the movie Dumbo as well. It has special meaning in my home and now this is going to scar it forever. I don't feel I did anything wrong. There are TONS of songs and people singing songs all over YouTube that are copyrighted but it is not selling or downloading anything. I guess I am very confused as to what is OK and what isn't. I mean if you record some friends dancing to a song will it get removed because someone else owns that song? I think it's crazy. This is just my 2 cents though. I feel sad that someone obviously VIEWED my video first to hear the song then claimed copyright and had it removed. It breaks my heart. They saw the description obviously of how I endured cancer throughout my pregnancy and how I dedicated it to my little girl. Oh sometimes people have no hearts.

I agree.. but please don't feel dejected.. no idea what motivates such people, but dont let that get you down.. just think that they don't matter and live life to the fullest.. :)

I'm really sorry--I would have enjoyed watching your video. I think that copyright law allows you to use 30 seconds of a song or 10%--whichever if less... I know that that song was special to you, but there are some sites online that you can get royalty free music to play with your video if you decide you want to republish it on Youtube--I bet a lot of your readers would love to see it.

I'm so sorry they did that! Nicole's ideas are really good though.

I'm sorry this happened to you. Can you do it in Google and put it on your blog? Just saying. Have a great day. :)

thanks for the ideas. Sandee I didn't realize you could upload videos directly to google. I don't know...but that could be worth a shot.

I'm sorry that happened to you. Strange how some videos get to stay and some don't. Bless your heart.
